Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Manager of People, Experience & Talent is currently seeking an HRIS Specialist. This position is responsible for leading HR data and system management at Waypoint, ensuring accurate, reliable, and effective use of HR systems and workforce data. This role partners with leadership and support services to optimize HR processes, resolve data issues, and enhance operations through technology and workflow improvements.

Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church Street Penetanguishene.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Maintain and monitor HRIS data, including position control and workforce information, ensuring alignment across organizational structure, budgets, and employee records
  • Develop and maintain HRIS business processes and workflows to support efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Serve as the primary resource for HRIS support, troubleshooting system issues and providing guidance to HR teams, leaders, and end users
  • Develop and deliver training and documentation to support effective system use, adoption, and best practices
  • Coordinate and support survey and reporting activities, including the compilation, validation, and submission of workforce and organizational data
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Collaborate with IT, HROD, and organizational stakeholders to support system enhancements, integrations, and issue resolution
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate HR processes and improve overall system effectiveness
  • Conduct regular audits of HRIS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Support system upgrades, testing, and transformation initiatives, including data migration, validation, and change management

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in a relevant field such as human resources, information technology or data analytics (Required)
  • Human Resources Information Management Professional Designation or People Analytics Certification (Preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years recent Human Resources Information Management Experience (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, hospital administration, collective agreements, and relevant employment legislation
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow/process mapping, and applying best practices and industry standards
  • Ability to conduct needs assessments and analyze business requirements to configure effective HR systems
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex requirements into effective solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to support projects, engage stakeholders, and drive collaboration
  • Strong communication skills to present complex information and provide clear advice and recommendations
  • Project management and organizational skills to lead complex initiatives and meet tight timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders and organizational levels
  • Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
