Maintenance Coordinator
About the role
Job Description:
#About the Department of Aviation
The aviation program is growing and has moved to a new hangar in August 2025. Mount Royal University’s Aviation diploma program has been in operation since 1970, and the Bachelor of Aviation Management began in 2024, with options for a Flight Operations Concentration which includes flight training, or an Aviation Operations Concentration. The program operates 12 aircraft at Springbank Airport and has plans to increase the fleet size. Flight Training students can graduate with a Commercial Pilot Licence and Group 1 Instrument Rating, with an option for some students to complete a Flight Instructor Rating.
#About the Role
The person in this role is accountable for the airworthiness, regulatory integrity, and operational efficiency of Mount Royal University’s (MRU) aircraft fleet. Acting as the primary bridge between flight operations and technical services, the Maintenance Coordinator ensures the fleet is maintained to the highest safety standards in support of the university's aviation training objectives.
The Maintenance Coordinator will coordinate with a third party maintenance provider to ensure completion of maintenance. This is a position that interacts with many others, such as students, Flight Instructors, the Safety Officer, and other employees at the main Lincoln Park Campus as well as Springbank Campus.
This is a full time position at the Springbank Campus, working 35 hours per week. Typical hours will be 0700-1430, Monday through Friday. The Maintenance Coordinator is part of the Mount Royal Staff Association and includes the benefits in the Collective Agreement.
After hours availability by phone is required in order to support pilots’ needs, as flight operations are 7 days a week and into night operations.
The Maintenance Coordinator must complete an interview with TC to qualify for the PRMC aspects of this role within 30 days of the start date. This will be arranged by MRU.
