ABOUT INUVIALUIT REGIONAL CORPORATION (IRC)
IRC was created in 1984 to represent the Inuvialuit and their rights and benefits obtained under one of Canada's oldest comprehensive land claim agreements. With assets over $1 billion, not including vast land holdings, IRC is responsible for corporate investment, land management, and a broad range of social, cultural, and economic programs and services benefiting Inuvialuit. Its subsidiaries have interests in grocery, manufacturing, property management, transportation, and significant dealings in the oil and gas industry.
Since its inception, IRC has experienced considerable growth and its structure and operations have become increasingly complex. Combining local government and service delivery, community development, investment, and operating business divisions, all managed by a single back office, the organization has an array of complexities for the executive staff to navigate. There is an emphasis on fostering understanding, healing, and resilience in a region brimming with unique social challenges and immense potential for transformative change.
JOB SUMMARY
As IRC standardizes on Microsoft Teams and SharePoint as its primary digital workplace, the Digital Workplace Administrator (SharePoint & Teams) is responsible for the ongoing management, governance, and usability of these environments.
This role ensures that departmental collaboration spaces remain consistent, secure, usable, and sustainable following initial setup and vendor-supported implementation. The position acts as the operational owner of digital workplace assets once they are created, supporting staff adoption while maintaining organizational standards.
The role sits within IT Services, works closely with Internal Communications, and supports multiple departments across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
-
Demonstrated experience with SharePoint Online in a Teams‑first digital workplace environment
-
Strong understanding of information architecture, including document libraries, metadata, views, and navigation
-
Experience managing permissions using group‑based access models
-
Understanding of content lifecycle management (draft approved archived)
-
Ability to work collaboratively across departments without being embedded in any single team
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
-
Experience supporting user adoption or change management initiatives
-
Familiarity with content design and usability principles

Awareness of records management or retention concepts in Microsoft 365 environments
