Lifestyle Manager – Part-Time
The Arbutus Club has been a landmark in Vancouver since 1964. Today, we are a modern recreation complex with first-class food, beverage, retail, and recreational services. Our vast range of facilities and programs, coupled with unparalleled service, has earned us a reputation as one of Canada’s finest premier private clubs.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Lifestyle Manager to lead the Club’s Wellness team and programs. This role combines operational management, program development, event planning, and member engagement to deliver high-quality wellness experiences. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with proven leadership experience, a collaborative approach, and a passion for fostering health and wellness in a private club environment.

This position will involve 25 hours per week focused on administrative and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate can choose to add up to 15 hours to provide direct wellness services, with an additional hourly rate applied for service delivery. Additional hours may be approved by the Athletics Director.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train Wellness Providers, ensuring balanced coverage to meet member demand
  • Approve invoices and manage provider schedules efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Fitness Manager, Fitness Centre Supervisor, Group Fitness & Pilates Coordinator, and Spa Manager to provide a holistic approach to fitness and wellness
  • Manage the booking and allocation of wellness treatment rooms using JaneApp to maximize utilization
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory for Wellness operations
  • Act as the primary contact for member inquiries related to Wellness and Lifestyle programming
  • Actively engage with members to understand their needs and concerns, addressing issues promptly and professionally
  • Identify additional wellness disciplines and opportunities to expand the Club’s offerings
  • Develop and implement engaging wellness programs, seminars, workshops, or retreats reflecting member interests
  • Promote programs and services with consistent, member-focused communication
  • Plan and execute wellness-related opportunities outside of the Club under the Home-Away-From-Home concept
  • Lead initiatives to enhance team culture, professional development, and staff engagement
  • Ensure consistent communication of programs, policies, and updates to staff and members
  • Organize quarterly meetings to empower the team of contractors and grow collective skill sets

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Health Sciences, Wellness, Kinesiology, Hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in wellness, spa, or lifestyle program management
  • Experience supervising practitioners or service providers in a wellness or hospitality setting
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to develop engaging, member-focused programs
  • Experience with JaneApp is an asset.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Professional liability insurance if providing direct services
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
  • Commitment to delivering a professional standard of member service and ongoing professional development
