Job Description

The Head of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for overseeing all HR functions across IMS, ensuring alignment with business strategy and compliance with employment laws across multiple regions. This role covers payroll, internal communications, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, compliance, and HR operations.

The Head of HR will collaborate with regional teams to maintain HR consistency, operational efficiency, and a high-performance culture. The role also involves working closely with Finance on salary benchmarking and payroll administration, ensuring that compensation and benefits align with market standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership & Compliance

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that support business objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations in all regions of operation.

  • Partner with leadership to provide HR guidance on workforce planning, organizational structure, and business transformation.

  • Manage HR reporting, metrics, and analytics, providing insights to leadership

Payroll, Compensation & Benefits

  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.

  • Work with Finance to support salary benchmarking, compensation structures, and benefits administration.

  • Ensure HR systems support payroll accuracy, compliance, and seamless integration with financial processes.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Work with Talent Acquisition (TA) to support end-to-end recruitment, ensuring that IMS attracts and retains top talent.

  • Work with hiring managers and TA to support efficient recruitment processes, talent pipelines, and onboarding strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with hiring policies, including diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Act as the primary escalation point for HR-related issues, ensuring fair and legally compliant resolutions.

  • Oversee employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

  • Manage the performance review process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and employee development.

  • Lead HR investigations and compliance-related concerns, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Oversee internal communications, ensuring clear and transparent messaging across all levels.

  • Develop and manage employee engagement initiatives, fostering a positive workplace culture.

  • Lead company-wide events, town halls, and leadership communication efforts.

Learning & Development (L&D)

  • Support the development of training programs to enhance employee skills, leadership, and career progression.

  • Ensure compliance training is completed across all regions, aligning with business needs.

  • Oversee succession planning initiatives to develop future leaders within IMS.

Team Leadership & HR Operations

  • Manage the HR Administrator and Talent Acquisition Specialist providing guidance, support, and leadership on HR operations.

  • Oversee HRIS (BambooHR), policies, and compliance to ensure consistency and efficiency.

  • Work closely with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to align HR strategies with business goals.

Key Requirements

  • Proven HR leadership experience, managing multiple HR functions across global teams.

  • Experience managing HR team or junior HR team members (e.g. HR administration, talent acquisition). Experience managing senior HR staff is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll compliance, and HR policies in the UK and North America.

  • Expertise in employee relations, performance management, and recruitment strategies.

  • Ability to work with Finance on compensation planning and payroll administration.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, CHRP, CHRL or equivalent) is an asset.

Other Contextual Information

  • Hybrid role, requiring both remote work and in-office presence for key meetings.

  • Occasional travel may be required for HR leadership meetings, recruitment, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Role will evolve based on business needs and HR best practices.
