About the role

Culinary Opportunities

Members of the Culinary team are true customer service professionals who go above and beyond to provide world-renowned western hospitality. The Culinary team can be found behind the scenes keeping the kitchen in running order or working with the Front of House team to provide a smooth experience for guests.

These positions are seasonal roles, for the Calgary Stampede celebration in July 2026.

  • Please note that some of these roles may require a valid Alberta Health Services Food Safe Certification.

Positions with the Stampede Culinary team include:

  • Carvers
  • Line Cooks
  • Prep Cooks
  • Apprentice Cooks

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Culinary team may include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing excellent customer service in a prompt, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Organizing, preparing, and cooking quality food products using grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work station.
  • Cleaning or Sanitizing work areas and equipment
  • Weighing or measuring ingredients
  • Mixing ingredients for menu items such as salads
  • Preparing fruits and vegetables for cooking
  • Ensuring food is presentable, appetizing, and served quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintaining chilled, frozen, and hot food temperatures as per AHS Standards.
  • Rotating food stock to maintain freshness.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Full-line restaurant and/or fast-food cooking experience is an asset.
  • Must be positive, energetic, and a team player.
  • Must be able to perform duties that require physical lifting, repetitive movements and standing or walking for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work well and thrive under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures is an asset.
  • Alberta Health Services Food Safe Certification must be obtained upon employment.
  • English language proficiency, written and verbal, is required.

Please note that all applicants will be required to:

  • Be 18 years of age or older by June 2026
  • Be legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada
  • Have a Social Insurance Number
  • Have a bank account in their own name
  • Must successfully participate in a criminal background check
  • Be available to work for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede
  • Complete and comply with all required training and policies
