About the role
Company Description Shekhani Industries is a growing textile manufacturing and design company focused on delivering high-quality fabrics and innovative patterns to a diverse range of clients. Based in Karachi, the company serves both local and international markets across fashion, workwear, and commercial textiles.
Role Description
The Textile Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in SITE, Karachi. Develop new designs per collection cycle, in complete 2-piece and 3-piece suit sets (shirt, dupatta, trouser), plus coordinated bottoms. Build seasonal collections around a defined theme, palette and price point — summer lawn, mid-summer, khaddar/winter, festive/Eid drops. Work in all the relevant print languages: all-over florals, geometrics, ikat and ajrak-inspired, chintz, paisley, digital watercolour, border/pallu engineered layouts, patchwork and panel prints, and placement prints for the shirt front. Create 3–5 colourways per base design and recommend which colourway leads the range. Research and track what is selling: seasonal trend reports, social media, etc and explain what SKU's are selling and why. Sit in on the range plan: which designs go where on the price ladder, how many SKUs per drop, what repeats next season.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Textile Design or equivalent — IVS, PIFD, TIP, Asian Institute of Fashion Design, NCA, or comparable. Exceptional self-taught designers with a strong production track record will be considered. 3–6 years designing printed unstitched womenswear for the Pakistani retail market, at a brand, a design studio, or a print house. Expert Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. This is the core of the job. Working knowledge of textile CAD and RIP environments — NedGraphics, TexPro/TexBase, Neostampa, Wasatch, ErgoSoft, Caldera or the printer's native RIP. Practical understanding of repeats, colour separations, colourway building, and colour management on cotton. A portfolio. Send it. Designs on fabric, not only on screen, wherever possible.
