Job Status: Full Time, 37.5 hrs/wk, Monday to Friday (8-4pm)

Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Development & Donations Coordinator will be responsible for the efficient and effective administration of electronic and paper-based information pertaining to donations, stakeholders, event execution and management. Responsibilities will include event management and fundraising, marketing and public relations, donor relations, data entry, preparing customized donor reports, archiving and retrieval of documents and for keeping accurate and complete records and forms.

Job Duties:

  • Provide general administration of fundraising goals as set by strategic direction of organizational leadership.
  • Develop and organize fundraising objectives, programs and campaigns.
  • Under the guidance of the Executive Director and management team, plan, organize, and execute mainstay fundraising events, such as Bowling for the Animals, the Annual Golf Tournament, and Big Paws.
  • Work closely with the larger team to coordinate event volunteer staffing needs, and animal appearances.
  • Provide support to the Volunteer Coordinator for third-party events, as needed.
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with potential and existing donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Provide annual input for donor-based budget lines.
  • Maintain accurate records of donations and donor information, track campaign progress, and report on fundraising results.
  • Coordinate and facilitate 50/50 campaign fundraising, including maintaining licensing requirements with AGCO.
  • Participate in the social media committee to develop outreach strategies or content for fundraising campaigns, 50/50 or events.
  • Provide administrative support to the Direct Mail campaign, including data collection and mailing lists.
  • Mine, collate and analyze donor data to assist in retention and monitor trends.
  • Conduct market research to propose or improve existing donor engagement.
  • Manage donation/membership systems (Donor Perfect and Raisin), including data input and donation processing, record maintenance, tax receipting, donor recognition standards, financial reports and donations/donor trend reporting.
  • Manage KHS Health & Safety program, including acting as the JHSC Committee Member, hosting H&S inspections and performing monthly preventative maintenance.
  • Support the mission and values of the organization in all interactions.
  • All other tasks as assigned by manager.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of direct administration experience including database management
  • Strong computer skills, including CRM database experience, Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software packages as required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for travel to meetings, events, and other locations.
  • Hold or willing to be trained for First Aid, CPR, or JHSC certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to exhibit professionalism when communicating with community members and donors
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced busy environment and to manage multiple tasks in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Able to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends occasionally.
  • The ability to lift and/or move objects, typically up to 20 or 25 pounds (e.g., boxes of supplies, event materials, tables, chairs).
  • Overtime as required.
  • On-call shifts as required.
