THE OPPORTUNITY
Ambipar is currently seekingConfined Space & Rope Rescue ERTsbased out of the**Langley, BC and/or Chilliwack, BC.**You will be responsible for responding to emergency situations, ensuring the safety of people, property, and the environment through timely and effective action. This is a part-time / casual role that involves day shifts, night shifts, and weekend work (8 to 12 hour days).
RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND / WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF:
OPERATIONAL
-
Deliver prompt and efficient emergency responses to incidents such as plant and rail fires, spills, medical emergencies, and alarms, utilizing a range of effective rescue tactics.

Travel to sites around Lower Mainland, BC for a variety of jobs.
-
Perform work duties in all weather conditions.
-
Comfortably perform work on your feet for 8+ hours.
-
Full understanding of daily assignment(s).
-
Maintain all equipment and assets.
-
Provide training to staff and client personnel.
-
Discuss operational needs with onsite representative, if required.
-
Ensure acting within the appropriate response time.
SAFETY
-
Review and demonstrate compliance regarding the company and clients’ HSEQ policies and procedures as directed by the HSEQ Manager.
-
Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions.
-
Correct hazards and improper activities as soon as they are observed. Immediately report to site lead all accidents, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
REPORTING
-
Complete daily scope of work, PJHA, permits and upload to the designated location.
-
Complete documentation of emergency response with site lead.
-
Provide reports as required from the Client.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Valid Confined Space Ops or Tech certificate meeting NFPA 1006 Standard.
-
Valid Rope Rescue Ops or Tech certificate meeting NFPA 1006 Standard.
-
Confined Space Entry Monitor.
-
H2S Awareness.
-
Basic or Intermediate First Aid (OFA 1 or 2).
-
Transport Endorsement.
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with cleared Abstract.
-
ICS 100.
-
Physically fit and capable of performing an emergency response technique.
-
Working knowledge with the following programs - SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, WhatsApp.
-
Successful completion of drug and alcohol tests as required by both legislation and clients.
-
Successful completion of annual physical fitness test.
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
-
Positive and professional attitude.
-
Must reside in Langley or Chilliwack, BC.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

H2S Alive
-
1-2 years of industrial response experience
-
Working under supplied air
-
Experience with gas and area monitors
-
NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician preferred
-
Valid Class 3 with Q endorsement or above Driver’s License
-
Advanced First Aid/EMR or above.
