Assisting in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Creating expense reports and coding to correct GL accounts.

Performing account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Allocating project costs per PM’s or Senior Accountant’s instructions.
Vendor & Payment Management

Setting up new vendors in the accounting system.

Confirming payment details with vendors and customers.

Following up on old cheques before stale date.

Maintaining accurate accounting records, digitally and physically.
Invoicing

Generating invoices and ensuring timely delivery.

Working with Accounts Payable to obtain unentered invoices, review with project team and prepare JVs.
Compliance & Process Improvement

Monitoring adherence to vendor payment terms.

Review cheque release & compliance requirements for all physical cheques.

Required
Education
- Minimum 2-year diploma with a specialization in accounting, business, or project accounting.
Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience as an Accounting Assistant or similar role.
Designations & Certifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Superior organizational skills.

Great attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

SAGE or QuickBooks experience is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Primarily works in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards.
- May encounter high-stress situations, especially when dealing with multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- This position requires that the candidate will be in front of a computer for long periods, up to 8 hours a day.
- Potential discomfort when working with computers for long periods may happen.

- College Diploma (2yr) or better in Accounting or related field
