Job Description We are currently hiring a Software Configuration Management (CM) Analyst to join our team. Our CM team provides analytical and technical support to engineering personnel and programs. They apply Configuration Management best practices and policies to software engineering artifacts and support assigned programs in creating and executing their Configuration Management Plans. This includes: planning, configuration identification, configuration change management, configuration status accounting, configuration verification & audit. You will also support software build, release and delivery processes.

  • Define and maintain program-level software configuration management plans.
  • Establish and maintain software configuration baselines.
  • Verify and audit the configuration status, support audit activities.
  • Manage software build, release and delivery processes and tools.
  • Report and communicate configuration changes.
  • Develop software configuration management utilities and tools.
  • Create and maintain software version and/or configuration documentation.
  • Provide formal and informal training and instruction to program staff on configuration management practices and corporate tools.
  • Improve and optimize the configuration management process and tools.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a related field, Software would be considered a strong asset
  • Understanding of software configuration management practices.
  • Awareness of configuration management standards.
  • Familiarity with enterprise class Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
  • Good knowledge of software engineering practices, principles and design patterns.
  • Exposure to DevOps methodology and working knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with defect tracking and workflow management tools.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset and continuous improvement focus

Nice to have:

  • Familiar with both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
  • Experience with EIA 649 Standard.

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
