About the role
Sunderland Co-operative Inc., is currently seeking a Full Time Energy Driver.
Position Summary: As an Energy Driveryou will be responsible for the delivery of fuel, heating oil and/or propane to local businesses and/or residential customers.
All Drivers must have a proven ability to build relationships, identify needs and create value with customers. An Energy Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of bulk petroleum and propane to our valued customers. All Drivers are required to also keep a record of vehicle inspections and ensure the truck is equipped with the proper safety equipment, such as hazardous material placards. An Energy Driver assists the dispatcher to plan their routes according to a delivery schedule and is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of all products. An Energy Driver may be required to sell products or services to customers on their route, obtain signatures from recipients and collect cash if required. Please note: Overtime is expected in this position and will include on call shifts. You must provide a current three-year Driver's Abstract at the time of application.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete a daily truck log and submit reports of mileage covered
- Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible
- Comply with government and in-house regulations and rules
- Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and at the end of the shift, report any problems or damage to management
- Act as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
- Achieve objective(s) and plan(s) for assigned area(s) as laid out by the Energy Manager
- Maintains territory records and reports as directed by the Energy Manager within company policy
- Adheres to company policies in all areas, e.g.: safety, credit, proper management of assets, pricing, uniforms, etc.
- Assists in operations if needed during the busy seasons
- Deals effectively and courteously with customers and co-workers
- Understands and follows the Sunderland Co-operative Inc., health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Actively participates in education and training provided by Sunderland Co-operative Inc.
- Must have or be able to obtain various licenses, permits and/or certificates as required
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

The ability to read, understand and adhere to the Federal & Provincial Government Standards

Be comfortable with computers, tablets and phones

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to work indoors/outdoors, occasionally in inclement weather
