About the role

We are looking for a dynamic and technically skilled professional to join our Finance team as a Manager – Accounting & Consolidation Projects. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with both the Consolidation and Accounting Policies teams, providing exposure to a broad range of corporate accounting activities. This position is ideal for a Big 4 accounting professional seeking to transition to industry and gain hands-on experience in both technical accounting and financial reporting. You will be involved in complex accounting matters, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives that directly contribute to CGI’s financial integrity and operational growth. Based in Montreal, Canada, under a hybrid work model, this role offers a stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and professional development.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will act as a key liaison between the Consolidation and Accounting Policies teams, supporting both technical accounting assessments and financial reporting deliverables.

  • Lead the accounting for business acquisitions, including purchase price allocation (PPA), and ensure proper follow-up accounting on a monthly basis until full integration;
  • Review and advise on critical revenue contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with IFRS;
  • Participate in special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting standards and process improvements;
  • Support the Consolidation team in specific accounting investigations and complex transactions;
  • Collaborate with various internal partners (FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, etc.) to resolve accounting issues efficiently;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and documentation;
  • Act as a resource for technical accounting matters, helping to bridge knowledge between operational and corporate finance teams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting, ideally from a Big 4 or national accounting firm;

  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and business combination accounting (PPA);

  • Experience with revenue recognition and contract reviews;

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills;

  • Fluency in French and English, with strong writing skills in both languages;

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment;

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (especially Excel);

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to learn and contribute across multiple finance functions.

This role is a great development opportunity for someone who wants to gain broad exposure across corporate accounting, consolidation, and policy, while taking part in key financial projects and business integrations at CGI.
