About the role
We are hiring for a permanent full-time Registered Dietitian to support Primary Care clients in the south Okanagan. This position works Monday to Friday from 08:30-16:30. This position requires driving between clinics at the South Similkameen Health Centre in Keremeos, the Upper Similkameen Indian Band in Cawston, and the Lower Similkameen Indian Band in Hedley.

About the position:
The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures. Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health. The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program. The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

Keremeos is a beautiful town located on the banks of the Similkameen River less than 40 minutes from Penticton. Known as one of the fastest growing villages in B.C., Keremeos has seen unprecedented growth in recent years. Its residents enjoy mild winters, a dry climate, and long hot summers.
The Keremeos climate is ideal for fruit growing and is home to a number of award-winning wineries. The area has one of the highest concentrations of organic fruit and vegetable producers in B.C. Full of hiking and riding trails, including the pristine Cathedral Provincial Park, Keremeos is an active community.
Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
Successful completion of an accredited hospital based dietetic internship program (or equivalent acceptable to the facility).
Full registration as a Registered Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
One year of clinical nutrition experience in a health care environment preferred.
Valid BC Driver’s License required.
