15 Wing, headquartered in Moose Jaw, is the centre of RCAF aircrew training and is comprised of 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (CFFTS) and 431 Air Demonstration Squadron (CF Snowbirds) both located in Moose Jaw, SK. The Wing is the principal site of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC). 15 Wing is responsible for three different aircraft platforms that include: CT-156 Harvard II, CT-155 Hawk, CT-114 Tutor, and any visiting aircraft.
You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient VFR air traffic services to DND, at Canada’s Most Notorious Military Airport. Summary/Purpose The Groundskeeper / Labourer is responsible for a wide range of tasks focused on the upkeep and maintenance of outdoor spaces. This includes general groundskeeping duties and labour tasks aimed at ensuring clean, functional, and visually appealing environments throughout the year. The role requires performing work safely and efficiently, while upholding Serco’s high standards of quality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Snow and Ice removal are performed in accordance with Snow and Ice Control (SNIC) Plan.
- Perform grass cutting in accordance with Grass Cutting Plan.
- Maintain landscape features, including trimming, pruning, and general upkeep.
- Assist with repairs to concrete and asphalt surfaces while repairing and or replacing signage on the airfield and on domestic roads.
- Provide assistance to the trade shops as needed.
- Lifting heavy materials/equipment in performance of duties.
- Operating light vehicles as required with proper licensing.
- Knowledge of operating specialized equipment such as ride-on lawn mowers, power saws, hedge trimmer, tractor, bobcat loader, snow blower, boom lift, forklift, turf sweeper, etc.
- Operate communication equipment for airfield & domestic operations.
- Lift and transport heavy materials/equipment.
- Clean vehicles for Serco and Department of National Defence (DND) users.
- Keep shop and work areas clean and store equipment in designated areas.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report all incidents/accidents to the Lead immediately.
- Attend training courses as required by management.
- Crosstrain peers for vacation coverage or acting duties.
- Perform other duties relevant to this position as assigned.
- Accurately record work hours daily in the Deltek application for payroll purposes.
Education/Certification JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License Class 5 is required (Class 3 or higher is an asset).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (Ramp DDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required
- The ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance is required. May be required to upgrade to Secret Level II (dependent upon customer’s security requirements).
Knowledge And Experience
- Good physical condition to perform groundskeeping and general labourer duties.
- Experience working with specific types of groundskeeping machinery or landscaping equipment.
- Previous experience working within a structured corporate or governmental environment.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices related to landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Knowledge of operating specialized equipment such as ride-on lawn mowers, power saws, hedge trimmer, tractor, bobcat loader, snow blower, boom lift, forklift, turf sweeper, etc.

- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Strong collaborative and organizational skills.
