The Role:
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking organization seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in comprehensive financial analysis, reporting, and strategic decision-making processes.
Core Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting:
- Manage and oversee the complete accounting cycle, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end/year-end closings.
- Oversee the full-cycle AR and AP processes, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations.
- Prepare, post journal entries to the GL, reconcile financial discrepancies and ensure accurate financial records.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and present financial statements in compliance with ASPE and IFRS standards.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns in accordance with Canadian tax regulations.
- Assist in tax planning and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
Treasury & Cash Management:
- Manage treasury operations, including domestic and international payments.
- Optimize cash management processes to improve liquidity and working capital efficiency.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Required Competencies and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation or in progress is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis and accounting roles.
- Strong knowledge of ASPE and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proficiency in GST/HST tax regulations and compliance.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is an asset.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
