An affiliate of the Airbus Group of Companies, STELIA is an aerospace and defence company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of composite components and assemblies. Headquartered in Lunenburg, NS, and with a site in Mirabel, QC, we operate more than 150,000 sq feet of facilities dedicated to operations, manufacturing, and administration.

The Trimming Operator is responsible for for trimming composites parts using handheld tools and machine shop equipment. The Trimming Operator embraces a culture defined by safety, quality, teamwork, and accountability.

In this role you will:

• Trim composite components, prefabricated parts per specific work instructions and customer specifications.
• Perform self-quality checks.
• Identify nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
• Record results (e.g., production and inspection) per work instructions where required.
• Meet schedule and production requirements.
• Follow and promote safety rules, such as wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection where required.

In this role you have:

• Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent experience).
• 1 year experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment (mechanic or composite).
• High attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, quick learner.
• Ability to use of power tools, cutting tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or blueprints.
• Ability to follow demonstrated steps.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Manual dexterity/coordination.
• Physical demands include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs and wearing a respirator and other protective equipment.
• Ability to keep track of various parts and job orders and manage time spent on different tasks.
• Ability to keep a clean workspace (parts can be sensitive to foreign materials)
• Put safety first and realize how important it is to take care around certain machinery/equipment.
• Perform other functions and duties as assigned.
