STATUS: PART-TIME
WAGE RATE: $37.071 – $38.157
Reporting to the Manager, the RPN in the Operating Room assesses perioperative patient needs, performs activities that demonstrate nursing accountability safely and adequately provides and utilizes equipment and supplies based on need and evaluates patient outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Current Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Successful completion of the Operating Room certificate (and preferably at least two years of OR experience)
- Ability to scrub in all services
- Knowledge of the current ORNAC standards
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
- Ability to function as a team member
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to flex time to meet unit’s need
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
- Ability to respond to urgent/emergency situations
- Must be willing to take call and be available to reach the hospital within 20 minutes
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
- Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
- Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the
department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes
