We are seeking a dedicated full-scope Family Physician to provide comprehensive primary and urgent care at the Texada Island Health Centre.
Serving a population of about 1,100, This is a unique solo practice opportunity in a beautiful rural island community. This position offers a negotiable start date, though a prompt start is preferred. Your commitment will provide critical, long-term stability for this appreciative community,
What we offer:
- Clinic Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am – 4:00 pm; closed on statutory holidays.
- Full-day and half-day clinic shifts are available, offering flexibility to work 3 to 4.5 days per week, including options for in-person and virtual patient visits.
- Emergency transfers supported by BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS).
- Join a supportive network of CME, primary care integration through qathet Division of Family Practice.
Your role:
- Provide comprehensive primary and urgent care services.
- Assess and diagnose a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.
- Initiate appropriate treatments and interventions.
- Provide professional guidance to other health professionals and participates autonomously as a member of the interdisciplinary health teams.
Travel & Expense Coverage
- Accommodation can be provided
- Round-trip ferry costs covered
- Meal per diem provided on travel days
Texada Island is the largest of the Northern Gulf Islands, located between the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island, with a population of around 1,100 residents. The island offers a peaceful lifestyle with amenities including grocery stores, banking, a 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, and various outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. It is accessible by boat, plane, or ferry via a 35-minute BC Ferries route from Powell River, which provides full medical and recreational services nearby.

Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, & Experience**:**
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full or Provisional
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) – Mandatory
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
