About the role
Hillberg & Berk, a Canadian owned, women-led, purpose driven jewellery brand, is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Technical Designer to join our Design & Product team in Victoria BC. This role is essential in transforming creative concepts into production-ready designs by ensuring technical accuracy, fit, and quality. You’ll work closely with designers, product developers, and supply chain partners to bring our jewelry collections to life with precision and excellence.
What you can expect in the role
- Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications and production-ready documentation.
- Create and maintain accurate tech packs, including measurements, materials, construction details, and finishes.
- Collaborate with designers to ensure product feasibility and alignment with brand standards.
- Review and approve samples, ensuring consistency in fit, quality, and design intent.
- Partner with supply chain and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve product execution.
- Prepare production ready 3D CAD files
- Maintain organized records of technical files, revisions, and sample tracking.
- Support continuous improvement of product development processes and tools.
- Conduct quality checks and provide feedback to vendors and internal teams.
- Stay current on industry standards, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
What do you need to apply?
- Proven experience in technical design, preferably in fashion, accessories, or jewelry.
- Strong understanding of product construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in technical drawing and 3D CAD software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Rhino, MatrixGold).
- Experience in 3D printing is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- A passion for craftsmanship and delivering high-quality products.
