Duties**:**
- Performs daily routine cleaning activities in patient (IE, treatment areas, patient rooms, common areas) and non patient areas (IE. office areas) to ensure cleanliness of furniture, fixtures and equipment. Tasks include, but are not limited to: washroom cleaning, garbage removal, high dusting, spot cleaning walls, horizontal surface cleaning and preparing rooms for meetings and conferences.
- Performs routine floor care as required, including but not limited to; dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, auto scrubbing, burnishing, buffing.
- Performs non-routine periodic tasks as required, including, but not limited to carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, floor stripping and waxing, and washroom deep cleaning.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to take safe, independent action in order to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Responsible to maintain clear communication channels and collaboration both internally and externally.
- Ability to continually and successfully adapt and alter sequence of daily routine to respond to changing customer requirements, while still achieving departmental objectives.
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment & Discrimination Free policy.
Qualifications:
- Secondary School diploma or equivalent;
- Knowledge of institutional cleaning functions/methods and the use of cleaning materials;
- Good oral and written communication skills to convey cleaning, repair, and maintenance matters;
- Excellent interpersonal skills used to deal in a tactful and professional manner with patients, staff and visitors;
- Physical ability to perform a variety of tasks related to the essential duties of cleaning and linen distribution;
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
- Must have the ability to deal with multiple demands.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
Salary Range:
27.63 to 28.02 per hour
