Manager, Commercial Lines Sales
About the role
The Manager, Commercial Line Sales focuses on sales enablement, technical education, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Sales, the Manager, Commercial Lines Sales plays a key role in reinforcing LIG’s unique sales approach, promoting holistic solutions, and ensuring producers are equipped for success in both the field and the office
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Sales Coaching and Mentorship:
- Provide individualized coaching to Commercial Lines Sales Brokers, both in office and in the field
- Facilitate technical and sales skill development and conduct regular check in's to review performance and identity areas for growth
- Our Unique Sales Approach:
- Provide training and ongoing reinforcement of LIG’s sales methodology and reinforce to embed as standard part of sales activity
- Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the sales and brokering team to ensure alignment and communication
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, employee benefits, claims, risk management) to support cross-sell opportunities and holistic solutions
- Sales Strategy and Performance Development:
- Track and evaluate sales activity to support performance improvement and strategic alignment; identify gaps and coordinate additional training
- Identify knowledge gaps and coordinate appropriate learning and / or training
- B2B Sales
- Proactively generate leads through various channels and effectively close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, with desire for leadership/mentorship responsibilities.
- RIBO license required; CIP or CRM designation is an asset.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance markets, coverage, and placement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide others.
- Demonstrated ability to coach others in a structured sales process.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
