Apply today to join our team!\n\nAbout Mobile Crisis De-Escalation (MoDe):\nThis new service will provide mobile crisis response to individuals in the inner city who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis. The interdisciplinary team will work closely with community service providers including shelter and supportive housing staff to provide a community-based, healthcare-led crisis response, post-crisis follow up, and service navigation. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new, specialized service that will evolve to meet the needs of the inner city community.\n\nAs a Social Worker with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:\n- Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide consultative social work services to a designated client population group.\n- Perform professional social work services such as conducting comprehensive social and psycho-social assessments, preparing comprehensive case histories, providing psycho-education and ...\n- Develop and enhances community communications/relationships, provides consultation services, engages in on\u2011going team planning, development, evaluation and quality improvement activities to achieve excellence in client care.\n\n## Qualifications\nEducation & Experience\n- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.\n- Master\u2019s degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work.\n- Two (2) years\u2019 recent related experience working with the designated population group, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.\n- Valid BC Driver\u2019s license and access to a personal vehicle for business\u2011related purposes.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\n- Broad knowledge of mental health issues and care.\n- Broad knowledge of psychotherapeutic, counseling skills and clinical practice models..\n- Broad knowledge of psychopharmacology (indications and side\u2011effects).\n- Broad knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in healthcare.\n- Broad knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures that relate to the client.\n- Comprehensive knowledge of social determinants of health\n- Demonstrated ability to apply systems theory to practice in Social Work assessment and intervention.\n- Demonstrated ability to conduct social and psychosocial assessments.\n- Demonstrated ability to understand and influence group and inter\u2011group processes, decision making and problem solving.\n- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients and families in order to explore issues that are beyond the initial presented concerns.\n- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with clients and their families, colleagues, physicians, and other health care staff.\n- Demonstrated listening and information seeking skills that promotes communication and lead to a co\u2011operative approach to problem solving within a multidisciplinary setting.\n- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities.\n- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.\n- Demonstrated ability to teach, demonstrate and coach clients and co\u2011workers both one\u2011on\u2011one and in groups\n- Demonstrated ability to work with a culturally diverse population.\n- Demonstrated ability to problem solve.\n- Demonstrated ability to adjust to new or unexpected events.\n- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict situations.\n- Skilled in the use of equipment and in the techniques appropriate for treatment.\n- Ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.\n- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.\n\n## Closing Statement\nApplicants with a Bachelor of Social Work and a demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
