About the role

Triple M Housing, a division of ATCO Structures and western Canada’s largest manufacturer of modular residential homes, is seeking a strategic and results-driven Controller to join our leadership team in Lethbridge, Alberta. Since 1981, Triple M has been building high-quality homes from our purpose-built, climate-controlled manufacturing facility in Lethbridge, Alberta. With over 400 skilled production employees and an experienced management team, we are proud to deliver innovative housing solutions across the region.

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Controller to lead the financial stewardship of our organization. Reporting to the President & CEO of Triple M, this senior leadership role is pivotal in ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, and alignment with corporate goals. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong foundation in financial management, compliance, and team development, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment. The Job location will be in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Job Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting to drive long-term success.
  • Oversee annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with ATCO’s accounting policies and financial standards.
  • Promote fiscal discipline and accountability across business units.

Accounting & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Lead risk management initiatives and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage fixed assets, capital expenditures, and minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and documentation.
  • Oversee cash management, credit control, and banking relationships.
  • Support accurate and timely preparation of income tax returns.

Insights & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze financial systems and data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct market and internal research to support forecasting and strategic decisions.
  • Review financial models to inform budgeting and business planning.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions and external partners.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support business deliverables and initiatives.
  • Oversee union relations, working with the production team and the union representative when necessary and leading the contract negotiations team

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and performance cycles for direct and indirect reports.
  • Align team development with organizational goals and evaluate performance outcomes.

Systems & Transformation

  • Champion the transition to Oracle’s cloud-based ERP system for improved efficiency.
  • Oversee monthly forecasting and ensure timely reporting.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable financial initiatives.
  • Lead or support key business initiatives including acquisitions, divestments, and bid proposals.

Who You Are:

  • CPA designation with 10+ years of progressive experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven success in strategic planning and execution.
  • Experience with systems implementation and process improvement.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and effective management.
  • Collaborative leadership style with motivational and influencing capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills; results-oriented and methodical
  • Ethical and composed, with a fact-based approach to decision-making and respect for reporting structures.
