About the role
Shift: Second
The Quality Inspector ensures that incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity by identifying defects, verifying specifications, and supporting continuous quality improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
The Impact You’ll Drive
- Inspect incoming materials and components to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections to ensure assembly accuracy, proper component placement, and adherence to quality checkpoints.
- Perform final product inspections prior to packaging or shipment, verifying appearance, dimensions, and functionality.
- Identify and document defects such as scratches, cracks, delamination, dimensional issues, and assembly defects.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection reports and quality logs.
- Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for materials or products that do not meet required standards.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, and templates to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and support corrective actions.
- Follow company quality procedures, safety guidelines, and manufacturing standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality investigations to prevent defects and improve processes.
What Sets You Up for Success
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role preferred. Experience in door, window, glass, or building products manufacturing is a plus. Technical training or certification in Quality Assurance or Manufacturing is an asset.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects. Familiarity with inspection methods and measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and templates. Basic understanding of quality standards and documentation practices. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with basic computer skills for recording inspection data.
Physical & Work Environment
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment. Exposure to machinery and glass products. Must follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
