Position Overview:
Are you passionate about plants and flowers? Do you enjoy helping customers choose the right plants for their homes and gardens? We're looking for friendly, energetic individuals to join our Greenhouse Retail Sales team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining plants, and creating beautiful floral arrangements. If you love plants, have an eye for design, and enjoy working in a dynamic, hands-on environment, this position is for you!

Position Details:

• Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
• Schedule: Flexible, weekends and some evenings are required
• Location: Shelmerdine Garden Centre Ltd. (Must have own transportation—no bus service available)

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing excellent customer service, helping customers select the right plants based on their lighting requirements and needs
• Use of a POS system to scan plants and wrap them for transport
• Educating customers on proper care and maintenance for their plants
• Pruning and watering plants to ensure the highest quality stock is always available
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace within the greenhouse
• Lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, and being on your feet for extended periods
• Working in a warm and humid greenhouse environment
• Merchandising and creating attractive display spaces for seasonal items and plants
• Working as a team and effectively managing time to ensure all daily tasks are completed

What We’re Looking For:

• Driver’s license or ability to commute to Headingley, MB.
• A passion for plants, with a willingness to learn new techniques and products
• Basic plant knowledge is an asset
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to listen and meet customer needs
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs, and be on you feet or long periods
• A creative flair for floral and plant arrangement design
• Must be able to work in a warm, humid greenhouse environment
