About the role

Reports To: The Assistant Director in the Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research.

**Job Location:**Montreal

Benefits:

Responsibilities:

  • Perform secretarial and administrative duties, including SharePoint classification and organizing files.

  • Assemble and organize information to prepare agendas, correspondence, and other documentation.

  • Receive, transmit, and prepare outgoing mail and packages.

  • Prepare routine letters and other written communications as required.

  • Take detailed notes during appointments, meetings, and other engagements, and assist with scheduling and travel arrangements.

  • Support DEWR staff with logistics and preparation of documents for meetings, workshops, and other events.

  • Be available to travel, as requested.

  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative or secretarial role.

  • Fluency in Inuktitut and English is required.

  • Proficiency in French (oral and written) is an asset.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.).

  • Financial literacy is considered an asset.

  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and professional correspondence.

  • Reliability and autonomy, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Analytical thinking, effective planning, and the ability to prioritize tasks and execute them in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge or familiarity with Inuit Knowledge and an appreciation for Indigenous cultures would be an asset.
