Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position in Kingston, ON and three (3) positions in Trenton, ON. A pool of essentially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence.

EDUCATION

ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture, or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position. * Structural Engineering is a relevant specialty for this position.
Note:
The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Degree equivalency
- OC1: Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.

EXPERIENCE

EX 1: Experience in engineering design or project management related to new construction, maintenance or renovation projects.

EX 2: Experience in providing engineering expertise, advice and guidance in support of engineering and life cycle management projects to decision makers, project managers and project teams.

EX 3: Experience in applying engineering principles to interpret standards, regulations and relevant legislation, lead and conduct technical studies, investigations and projects.

EX 4: Experience preparing reports, presentations, briefing notes and correspondence for senior management

AE2: Experience in Real Property project management. * Real Property (i.e. Infrastructure, buildings, construction, renovations, HVAC, roads, storm/sewer etc.)

AE4: Experience in development and delivery of sustainable infrastructure design, construction and/or maintenance.

AE 5: Experience in leading and supervising multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of engineering projects or technical tasks
