About the role
Augure is Canada's sovereign AI platform for regulated industries. No US parent company, no CLOUD Act exposure, inference on Canadian-owned infrastructure. We serve government, legal, healthcare, defence, and finance, sectors where the data cannot leave the country and the vendor cannot answer to a foreign subpoena.
We are looking for our first senior commercial hire to own enterprise revenue end to end. This is a ground-floor role. You will not inherit a team or a playbook. You will build the book, close the first major logos, and define how we sell into the most procurement-heavy buyers in the country. You report directly to the founder and work alongside the CTO on technical and security-heavy deals. Success in the first year looks like a signed dedicated-infrastructure contract with a flagship regulated client, a repeatable enterprise motion that survives long procurement and security review cycles, and a qualified pipeline across at least three of our target verticals. You are the person who turns a differentiated sovereignty story into signed six and seven figure deals.
Responsibilities Own the full enterprise sales cycle from first contact through procurement, security review, and signed contract, with a focus on dedicated infrastructure and platform deals. Build and manage a pipeline of large regulated and public sector accounts across government, legal, defence, finance, and healthcare. Lead complex, multi-stakeholder deals involving legal, compliance, procurement, and technical buyers, and pull the founder and CTO into the room when the deal calls for it. Translate our sovereignty and compliance position into concrete commercial value for each buyer, leading with regulatory and data-residency risk rather than features. Navigate Canadian public sector procurement, including standing offers, ITQs, security clearances, and vendor onboarding. Define the enterprise go-to-market motion, including territory and account prioritization, deal structuring, and the sales playbook that later hires will run. Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline discipline, and give the founding team honest read-outs on what is real and what is not. Feed customer and market signal back into product and roadmap decisions.
Qualifications Ten or more years in enterprise sales, with a proven record of personally closing large, complex deals at an established enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, or professional services or consulting firm. A demonstrated history of carrying and hitting a real enterprise number, not managing a team that carries it. Direct experience selling into Canadian regulated or public sector accounts, and fluency in how those organizations actually buy. An existing list of live contacts and relationships across Canadian government, legal, defence, finance, or healthcare that you can activate from day one. This is a hard requirement, not a nice to have. Comfort in technical and security-heavy sales conversations, and the credibility to engage CISOs, general counsel, and procurement leads. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual English and French is a strong asset given our Quebec public sector pipeline. Willingness to operate at the ground floor of a small team, build from scratch, and thrive without existing structure.
Compensation Competitive base, uncapped commission, and meaningful founding equity. This is a founding role and the equity reflects that. We are happy to talk specifics early. Toronto or remote in Canada. Reach out directly.
