Finance Manager - Richmond Christian School
Richmond Christian School is seeking a Finance Manager for a full-time, fixed-term position beginning May 18, 2026. Position: Finance Manager (Full-Time, Fixed-Term)Start Date: May 18, 2026Contract Term: May 18, 2026 – September 15, 2026Possible Extension: Through November 13, 2026 (based on operational requirements)Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Compensation
· 4-month contract: $26,767 – $36,997· 6-month contract: $40,150 – $55,495
Position Overview
The Finance Manager is an integral member of the Business Office and is responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of financial reporting, planning, and analysis services to the RCS community. This role provides leadership to staff responsible for day-to-day financial operations and reports to the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting (70%)· Lead day-to-day financial transactions and reporting processes· Manage accounts receivable and payable cycles (tuition, grants, donations, expenditures)· Oversee month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and audit preparation· Oversee donation receipting, student activity accounts, and related reporting· Oversee payroll processes, including T4/T4A, benefits, and pension reporting· Prepare regulatory and society reports (T3010, GST, Employer Health Tax, etc.)· Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
Financial Planning, Analysis and Performance Measurement (20%)· Support annual budget planning and multi-year projections· Monitor KPIs and provide financial insights· Conduct ad hoc financial analysis· Identify and implement process improvements (e.g., dashboards, automation)
Governance, People Management and Leadership (10%)· Support finance policy development and lead finance-related projects· Manage, coach, and develop reporting staff· Allocate and review work to ensure accuracy and priorities are met· Oversee integration of financial data systems· Train Business Office staff on procedures and compliance· Support vendor agreement processes and other operational needs
Qualifications & Requirements
· CPA designation with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis· Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills· Advanced technical proficiency (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, OneDrive)· Experience with payroll, compliance, and financial systems· Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills· High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines· Experience in not-for-profit and/or education sector is an asset
