Hybrid Job: This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.
Make a difference
The Tenant Training Facilitators will develop, support and implement innovative learning and development support the implementation of innovative learning and development initiatives for tenants at TCHC that lead to the achievement of Confronting Anti-Black Racism Strategy at Toronto Community Housing. Reporting to the Education Advocacy Consultant, the Tenant Training Facilitator assesses learning needs, design, coordinate and deliver learning and development initiatives, perform administrative duties, and promotes and sustains effective engagement and Learning with Tenants across all TCHC buildings and complexes.
The Tenant Training Facilitator will support programs such as CityServeTO.
CityServeTO is a program designed for youth aged 16–24 who are ready to take the next step but face real barriers like poverty, violence, racism, or involvement with the justice system. It is a program that is not just about earning a paycheque, it’s about finding purpose, building community, and being seen. Through hands-on service, personal growth, and employment, participants gain the confidence, skills, and support needed to shape a new path. It’s a purpose-driven journey that offers youth a team to lean on, a place to belong, and the tools to build a better future.
What you’ll do
Curriculum Development and Tenant Engagement
- Stakeholder consultation (Subject Matter and Business Process Experts, and agencies)
o Educational content
o Facilitation Guide
o Learners material (including education checkpoints and evaluations) - Assists with Black Community needs assessment development and coordination of community outreach and supporting community initiatives that dismantle outcomes of Anti-Black Racism through community strengths based approach
- Provide end-to-end learning and tenant engagement on confronting Anti-Black Racism for non-Black tenants to embed culture of zero-tolerance for racism and discrimination
- Build relationships and work collaboratively with TCHC programs to ensure alignment with tenant advocacy and Centre’s mandate
Education Delivery
- Program delivery
- Training coordination
- Identify and reserve training facility
- Strategic advertisement
- Create program/registration for tenants (training calendar)
Corporate Administration Support
- Project manages and/or participants on special projects, committees and assignments as requested
- Provides administrative support including, but not limited to, scheduling and organizing meetings and events, Requests for Proposals, tracking expenses, monitoring contractual obligations for external vendors, time entry, expense reconciliation, photocopying and other functions related to the unit
- Maintains learning resources and responds to queries
- Provides excellent customer service to Tenants across the TCHC company
- Other duties, as assigned
Tracking Management
- Maintains training records and tracks compliance with legislatively driven training requirements
- Develops mechanisms and tools to measure learning; monitors and reports on the effectiveness of training
What you’ll need
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Services, Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Certificate in Adult Education
- 2 years of previous training, curriculum design and evaluation skills
- Project Management experience
- Extensive knowledge of community resources in areas of the City of Toronto and ability to connect with staff at social service agencies to operationalized multi-agency responses to meet individual and community needs
- Strong Community engagement skills including advocacy capacity with marginalized and racialized populations / Listen for and respond to Tenant education needs as far as policies, community resources and services
- Lived experience as a TCHC tenant
