About The Job The Principal Solutions Architect is responsible for translating the project vision to the development team and plays an authoritative role within the Software Development Lifecyle from design to delivery, transforming every part of the digital customer journey. This includes guiding delivery teams in accordance with the best practices defined within the organization, effective communication with multiple stakeholders, and supporting developers at the code level.

This is a front-line role which requires the Architect to draw upon direct experiences gained working within various functions across the software industry, ideally with a strong software development background and supported by a robust technical understanding of complex IT Infrastructure landscapes (including cloud-based platforms) such as those typically encountered within large scale commercial organizations. As Principal Solutions Architect you will combine design thinking techniques, software development, networking skills, business domain know how and apply agile architecture principles to build high-quality applications. The incumbent must demonstrate effective communication skills as they must be able to explain complex implementations to senior non-technical project stakeholders.

In This Role You Will

  • Provide technical leadership to our teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Manage client onboarding, assist with client satisfaction and maintain strong client relationships through delivery excellence.
  • Utilize your financial services and technical expertise to ensure top- notch delivery of banking and insurance transformations.
  • Work closely with the development teams to learn and discuss the core-platform technical capabilities, aligning with them about potential upcoming requirements and contributing to the design of required solutions.
  • Develop activities either on the front- or the backend of software frameworks, with a major focus on cloud - based core banking systems.
  • Be involved in code reviews, standup meetings, sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Participate in Testing, release cycle and QA processes relating to client deployments.
  • Support our projects with creation of technical design specifications and solution documents.
  • Be responsible for overall technical delivery on each project, acting as the main point of contact for queries, issues and escalations, with complete oversight.

Job Requirements About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
  • You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in consulting and hold a software development background
  • Bring deep technical industry expertise in digital transformation, pioneering banking and insurance transformation across business, operations, and technology
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of complex consulting services projects within the Financial Services Industry
  • Demonstrated experience with and clear understanding of current trends, business models, and emerging architectures in either core banking or insurance
  • Must possess a deep understanding of business requirements and provide advice whilst designing optimal solutions and delivering the right technology results
  • Knowledge of current market technical trends, including Cloud, Cognitive, Digital, Microservices / APIs
  • Experience with the frontend tech stack: HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, and/or Vue
  • Experience with the middle/backend tech stack: Java, C#, Python, as well as common knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MySQL
  • Familiarity or experience with new and emerging supporting technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Istio, ELK Stack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and/or other Cloud Technologies
  • Familiarity or experience on mobile technologies such as React Native, Flutter, Ionic
  • Excellent communication, people management skills and efficiency when working with senior management and key external clients is important
  • Essential to have strong analytical skills, and take on problems in a structured way, joining your own creative ideas and those of others
  • Entrepreneurial and able to demonstrate commercial acumen when driving business-technology decisions
  • Experience of Agile development methodologies, and experience of all aspects of software project lifecycles from requirements gathering, through design, development, and implementation

The salary range in Toronto for this role is up to $150,000
