##Key responsibilities:

  • Preparing instructional materials relevant to the course being taught.
  • Instructing/teaching.
  • Marking/grading of exams and assignments online etc.
  • Providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Monitoring and participating in discussion forums online.
  • Frequently interacting with students online.

##Qualifications:

  • Master's, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language required.
  • Background/specialization in subject area required.
  • Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required. Instructional experience in E-learning or online teaching preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills using computers, mobile devices, virtual classroom software.
  • Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students learning at a distance is required.
  • Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

##Additional information:

PSYC 3150, Behaviour Modification Applications (3 credits): Must have successfully completed, with a grade B+ or better, PSYC 3150, Behaviour Modification Applications, or its equivalent. Preference may be given to applicants who are, or will be, a registered student studying in the Department which is posting the employment opportunity at the time that the duties of the position commence, who are in Applied Behaviour Analysis Psychology, have taken workshops on course development/training techniques, and experience as a Distance Education Instructor for this or other related courses, or their equivalents. Supervise and schedule work assignments for Grader/Marker or Teaching Assistant, if assigned. May be required to assess and provide feedback to Department Head regarding administrative responsibilities for student grade appeals, requests for time extensions to complete work, deferred examinations, and other administrative duties that may arise. May be required to attend on campus for an in-person exam.
