About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

Strike's Projects Group requires a Material Coordinator for the project location below.

PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station
  • Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)
  • Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off
  • Travel pay: $400/shift
  • Camp retention: $25/day

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure daily activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Responsible for inventory management, project materials, project inventory, and procurement
  • Ensure department goals are met and are constantly looking for continuous improvements in the processes
  • Ensure staff adhere strictly to operational procedures, safety, health, security, and quality policy
  • Reporting to the Quality Manager, this person must understand project needs in terms of logistics and requirements
  • Coordinate with the client and various suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project materials
  • Liaise with other departments to requisition, purchase, and distribute materials

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 2 - 4 years of working experience in a related field is required for this position
  • Experience reviewing standards, codes, and requirements and applying them in the field
  • Previous experience working in an industrial construction industry
  • Ability to read and interpret Material Test Reports (MTR’s)
  • Ability to read P&ID and Isometrics would be considered an asset

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Dynamic, self-disciplined, and highly motivated
  • Flexible and capable of working under pressure
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint experience would be considered an asset

Safety Tickets Required

  • CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate
  • WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Additional Training may be required if you will be working at heights, - Fall Protection, Arial Work Platform Training
  • Telehandler training is required if you will be operating equipment
