Property Accountant
Primaris REIT is currently hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Property Accountant to join the team at our Halifax Shopping Centre in Halifax, ON. If you are detail oriented and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this exciting opportunity is perfect for you!
Vacancy Status: New Role
As the Property Accountant, you will provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients and provide efficient and accurate accounting of a retail real estate portfolio owned by Primaris. Your communication skills and positive attitude will contribute to the success of our team. Your main organizational task will be to provide timely and accurate reporting and budgeting by: Monthly reporting, including month-end closes, actual to budget variance analysis, GST & QST returns, bank reconciliations, etc.
Prepare quarter-end audit packages and liaise with auditors
Draft annual financial statements and cost statements Prepare annual tenant operating cost, CAM recoveries and realty tax billings Prepare operating and capital budgets Prepare quarterly re-forecasts Assist with the integration of new property acquisitions as required Other duties as assigned Requirements: To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who are results driven, reliable, and flexible. If this opportunity sounds interesting to you, you likely have the following attributes: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field Earned or are enrolled in a program to achieve a professional accounting designation Proficiency with Microsoft Excel ERP system experience an asset (Yardi Preferred) Bilingualism an asset (French/English) Excellent customer service skills Excellent interpersonal skills Build positive relationships and demonstrate commitment, effort and a "take charge" attitude Produce accurate work with attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines Join us and play a vital role in providing outstanding experiences to our valued customers and tenants. We are seeking individuals with a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Compensation
At Primaris, we believe in rewarding talent with competitive wages and total compensation package. Your compensation is thoughtfully determined based on factors such as location, job level, relevant education or training, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, while ensuring internal equity and alignment with market data.
Expected Salary Range: CAD $75,000 – $85,000
