Education and Training:
-
Minimum of a Personal Support Worker Certificate from an accredited college or equivalent.

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate is required.

Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required
Experience:
-
Minimum of six (6) months of experience working as a Personal Support Worker in a hospital setting
Knowledge/Skills****Ability:
-
Demonstrated interpersonal / communication skills
-
Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to Dementia Care (GPA) are assets
Personal Suitability:
-
Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record
-
Criminal record check satisfactory to the Hospital is required
