Description
The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of recent clinical nursing experience. Demonstrated experience in adult education, staff development, orientation, or preceptorship. Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual learning platforms. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (if requiring an RN) or Master's degree in Nursing, Education, Leadership, or related field. Previous experience in a formal clinical educator, professional practice, or staff development role. Knowledge of Connect Care (Epic) and Covenant Health policies and procedures. Experience facilitating simulation-based learning and debriefing. Rural acute care and emergency department experience. Experience supporting learners, students, and preceptors.
