Technical Support Analyst - AS400/IBMi (Finance Systems)
About the role
Our global client is seeking a hands-on Technical Support Analyst with strong AS400/IBMi experience and a background in financial systems. This role is primarily focused on resolving support tickets within the finance technology ecosystem.
Once internal backup capacity is restored, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in global transformation initiatives with the broader technology team — making this a great entry point into long-term project work.
What You’ll Do Primary Focus: Ticket Resolution (Finance Vertical)
- Resolve day-to-day support tickets related to finance applications and integrations.
- Troubleshoot AS400/IBMi processes, jobs, and data flows.
- Support inbound/outbound financial interfaces, including:
- Bank data via FTP
- Journal entries from third-party systems
- Internal GL application processing
- Document issues, resolutions, and recurring patterns to support knowledge sharing.
Finance Systems & Integrations
- Work across finance applications and internal GL systems.
- Support data movement, interface monitoring, and error handling.
- Collaborate with finance and technology teams to ensure smooth operational processing.
Future Opportunity (Post–6 Months)
- Contribute to global transformation and modernization projects once support backlog stabilizes.
- Work with the technology team on enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For Required
- 5 + years of strong hands-on experience with AS400/IBMi (RPG, CL, DB2, ILE, SQL familiarity is a plus).
- Background in financial systems, accounting integrations, or GL-related data flows.
- Comfortable working in a support-heavy role and resolving tickets independently.
- Not junior — able to navigate AS400 confidently without heavy oversight.
- Technical aptitude and willingness to dive into support work immediately.
- Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence, ROBOT Scheduler, Aldon, or Microsoft 365.
- Exposure to finance industry, retail, or supply chain environments.
