Job#: 3025333 Job Description: Workday Technical Architect Engagement Overview This engagement supports defined phases of our healthcare client’s Workday technical implementation program . The scope of the engagement is limited to Planning and Readiness, Design, Foundation Tenant Build, and Testing .
The objective is to provide senior, comprehensive Workday technical architecture leadership and delivery governance to ensure high-quality system design, controlled configuration, and structured testing across all in-scope phases. Services will focus on future-state system design, technical architecture leadership, governance, quality assurance, and testing oversight, aligned with healthcare operational workflows and regulatory requirements.
The engagement is expected to span April 2026 through October 2026 , subject to program progress and client readiness.

Services Required The supplier will provide senior consulting services in the role of Workday Technical Architect to support the in-scope phases of the Workday implementation program.
Scope of Work The Workday Technical Architect will provide executive-level technical architecture leadership, team oversight, and design governance across all in-scope phases of the Workday implementation.
This role includes direct leadership of the digital Workday technical implementation and executive oversight of the full technical architecture organization, including Data Architecture, Data Conversion, Integrations Architecture, and Reporting/Dashboards workstreams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide executive leadership for enterprise-wide Workday technical architecture strategy, integration patterns, and technical design governance across all technical workstreams
- Establish and enforce technical design standards, configuration governance frameworks, and integration architecture principles across Data Architecture, Integrations, and Reporting teams
- Lead and oversee technical architecture activities across Design and Foundation Tenant Build phases, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards
- Architect and oversee integration design, security architecture, data architecture, reporting frameworks, and technical conversion strategies
- Lead technical architecture reviews, configuration validation checkpoints, and integration design reviews
- Provide technical leadership for Testing execution, including defect analysis, root cause identification, and resolution prioritization
- Provide senior technical architectural guidance to healthcare client stakeholders, system integrators, and functional teams
- Lead and manage the Data Architecture and Conversion workstreams and provide executive oversight to the broader technical architecture organization
- Oversee the Data Architecture workstream, including foundational data models, master data management strategy, data governance frameworks, and migration/conversion strategies
- Oversee the Integrations Architecture workstream, including enterprise integration patterns, API architecture, middleware strategies, and real-time and batch integration frameworks
- Oversee the Reporting and Dashboards workstream, including reporting architecture, analytics frameworks, dashboard standards, and business intelligence strategy
Required Qualifications And Experience The Workday Technical Architect is accountable for providing senior technical leadership and oversight across Data Architecture, Data Conversion, Integrations Architecture, and Reporting/Dashboard workstreams in support of a large-scale healthcare HCM transformation program.
The successful candidate must demonstrate proven experience leading the technical architecture and delivery of an enterprise-scale Workday SaaS HCM solution .
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum ten (10) years of recent experience in complex HCM/ERP application environments
- At least seven (7) years in a senior technical leadership capacity
- Equivalent combinations of education and progressive technical experience will be considered
Required Expertise:
- Workday technical architecture, including data model design, security architecture, tenant strategy, and environment management
- End-to-end data conversion strategy, including source-to-target mapping, transformation, cleansing, reconciliation, validation, and cutover planning
- Enterprise integration architecture using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs, middleware platforms, and complex interface ecosystems
- Reporting architecture and analytics strategy, including Workday reporting frameworks, dashboards, and data governance controls
- Enterprise data governance, privacy, and security considerations within regulated environments
- Integration and data performance optimization across large, multi-entity implementations
- Technical risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution
Additional Expectations The Workday Technical Architect will establish architectural standards, ensure cross-workstream technical cohesion, and align solution design with enterprise architecture principles and program governance. All technical decisions must be scalable, sustainable, and aligned with long-term operating model and application sustainment considerations.
Strong executive-level written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-relevant insights. The candidate must consistently demonstrate architectural discipline, critical thinking, sound judgment, and effective collaboration across technical and business domains throughout the engagement.
