The Casual Relief Receptionist/Secretary, as a valued member of the Community Health Centre team will be responsible for providing excellent customer service in a busy work environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks while interacting with clients and visitor in person and on the phone and working effectively as part of a team are core tasks for this role.

The position has a competitive salary and an option to join Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three to five years’ experience as a receptionist, preferably in a clinical setting or human service organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service, perform well under stress, and manage multiple demands and unpredictable delays.
  • Excellent organizational skills, judgement, diplomacy, tact and problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and advanced level of proficiency with office management systems and procedures.
  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A professional and friendly telephone manner and experience in dealing with the public in a mature, sensitive and helpful manner in person and by telephone.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology and high proficiency/accuracy in word processing and data entry skills.
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to health issues particularly within populations who face barriers to accessing care (under housed, living with mental health challenges or diagnoses, current or past substance use, complex health histories, 2SLGBTQIA+, newcomers, non-insured)
  • Post-secondary education in office or business administration, or an acceptable combination of education, training and work experience
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
