About the role

Reporting to the Marketing Specialist, the Social Media Community Coordinator is responsible for executing a dynamic social media and digital marketing strategy for Steam Whistle and its partner brands. Guided by the brand's strategic pillars, voice, and content strategy, this role brings the brand vision to life by creating, publishing, managing, and analyzing engaging content across a range of digital channels. The Social Media Community Coordinator develops compelling visual and written content, fosters online community engagement, and monitors performance to optimize results. This role supports brand growth by ensuring a consistent and impactful presence across owned digital platforms, including the company website, Instagram, Shopify, newsletters, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), TikTok, and LinkedIn.

Responsibilities

Assist with the development and distribution of visually compelling, relevant, topical, and engaging content for all owned social media channels Spearhead the creation of visually appealing and trend-savvy content for TikTok and Instagram Reels Assist with planning the brands editorial calendar 4-6 weeks in advance, while being nimble to identify opportunities to create of-the-moment posts that capture trending concepts Use iPhone photography skills to develop on the go Instagram story and video content, collaborating with our creative team to refine and deliver materials that meet the brand identity and needs Monitor social media content performance and deliver analytics to continually refine and optimize the content strategy based on current best practices Execute an ingrained understanding of the unique brand looks, voice and tone, while adjusting strategies to meet digital performance objectives Generate content ideas and strategies that meet brand objectives and drive consumer engagement and brand love Be constantly learning and staying up to speed on social media updates, trends, influencer marketing opportunities and emerging platforms Assist with PR Outreach/Influencer planning (including organic opportunities, paid programming and mailer programs) Familiarize yourself with each organizations brand ideals and platforms to create content that supports their objectives and desired identity Proofread all materials that are set to go live on a digital platform to ensues content is free of errors and meets the brand objectives Assist with email marketing and newsletter campaigns Ensure creative requests for required content are complete and delivered to the creative team with suitable notice and ensure delivered materials are free of error Must be willing to travel to The Roundhouse as needed to capture content supporting events and or ongoing marketing priorities as they happen The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 per year. We do not use Artificial Intelligence in our screening process. This is a hybrid role, working 2 to 3 days in the office ( The Roundhouse, Downtown Toronto or Evan's Avenue, Etobicoke) and 2 to 3 days from home.

Skills & Experience

1-2 years of experience creating and posting content across various platforms with a strong understanding of platforms such as Instagram, Shopify, Newsletter, Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok and LinkedIn Social Media related degree or diploma is advantageous Crafting compelling copy, with an adaptability to jump between different brand tones and voices Strong creative eye for capturing appealing imagery and videography, proven ability to create engaging materials that drive brand love Experience updating website platforms such as Shopify, WordPress and Square Space Experience using newsletter platforms such as Drip, Klaviyo and/or Mail Chimp Familiar with analytics tools and schedule software such as Meltwater, Airtable or Later Analytically minded, able to distill insights and provide recommendations based on data and performance metrics Detail oriented proof-reader with an ability to understand and maintain a consistent brand voice Animation, stop motion and photo and video editing skills considered a bonus
