You will guide a dedicated team of probation professionals, provide expert advice on complex and high-profile cases, and play a key role in implementing strategic initiatives that strengthen Ontario's youth justice system. This is an opportunity to bring your expertise in case management, justice services, and policy application to a role where your decisions directly support rehabilitation, public safety, and positive outcomes for young people.

In this dynamic and influential position, you will lead operations, build strong partnerships with community agencies and justice stakeholders, and manage everything from resource planning to quality assurance and program evaluation. As a values-based leader, you will foster an inclusive, engaged team environment, support staff development, and help shape the future of service delivery across the North. If you thrive in complex environments, excel at managing sensitive issues, and are motivated by the opportunity to lead transformational work, this role offers a unique chance to make a lasting difference while advancing your career in public service leadership.

Leadership That Makes a Difference

At its core, leadership in the Ontario Public Service (OPS) is about creating positive change for people and communities across Ontario. We're looking for leaders who are authentic, accountable, and courageous. People who bring others together, ask bold questions, and lead with purpose.

##About the job

We believe great leadership starts with high standards and strong support. In the OPS, that means showing up with authenticity, acting with integrity, and having the courage to do what's right, even when it's hard.

As a leader, you'll shape a team culture that sparks innovation, supports collaboration, and champions inclusion. You'll help build a workplace that is diverse, anti-racist, and accessible, where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to thrive.

You won't be doing it alone. We invest in our leaders through mentorship, learning opportunities, and cross-ministry networks that help you grow your impact and connect with peers across the organization.

Leadership is about impact, and in this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful one. You will:

-Plan and coordinate probation services: Oversee day-to-day programs and activities to ensure efficient, effective service delivery aligned with divisional objectives and legal requirements. -Manage contentious issues: Identify, analyze, and navigate complex cases, complaints, media attention, and public safety concerns, preparing briefing notes and incident reports when needed. -Provide expertise and advice: Guide staff and stakeholders in interpreting legislation and policies, particularly for complex or sensitive cases involving enforcement, mental health, or specialized services. -Lead case management: Establish and maintain the case management service delivery model by assigning cases, conducting reviews, and ensuring full compliance with court orders and rehabilitation programs. -Lead and contribute to initiatives: Participate in and provide leadership on corporate projects, task forces, and government initiatives, supporting policy development and community justice resolutions. -Ensure quality and compliance: Conduct audits and reviews of case files and service delivery to ensure adherence to ministry standards, policies, and legislative requirements.

Your ability to align your team's efforts with broader organizational goals will be key to your success, and to the success of the people we serve.
