Hiring a Piping designer in Sarnia for a short term contract !
Agilus is recruiting for a Piping designer in the Energy industry in Sarnia, Ontario. Our client is a leader in integrated energy services and design, build and maintain the assets that power the world for today and make it future-ready for tomorrow.
Total Rewards
- $40.00 - $60.00 hourly
- 3 - 6 month contract
A Typical Day
- Develop piping layouts and designs for brownfield projects within refinery environments, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards
- Review and update existing drawings to accommodate modifications and tie-ins for new installations
- Conduct site visits and field checks to verify existing conditions and gather accurate measurements for design work
- Prepare detailed piping drawings and isometrics using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant, PDMS)
- Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to resolve design issues and ensure constructability
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and refinery-specific standards throughout the design process
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning as required
Successful Candidates Will Have
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 10+ years of piping design experience in oil & gas or refinery projects.
- Proven experience in brownfield projects, including tie-ins and modifications
- On-site experience conducting field checks and verifying existing conditions.
- Strong understanding of ASME codes, piping standards, and refinery specifications
- Strong communication and coordination skills for multi-disciplinary teams
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
