Consider this opportunity. Ontario Health’s Information Strategy, Management and Analytics (ISMA) team enables better health system decision-making through high-quality, near real-time data. Working with Ontario Health, the Ministry, hospitals and system partners, ISMA develops the standards, tools and practices that support reliable information management, performance reporting and continuous improvement across Ontario’s health system. As Senior Analyst, you will play a key role in advancing data quality for public and performance reporting. You will partner with clinical business units and hospitals to understand data needs, identify risks and opportunities, support reporting decisions, and promote best practices that strengthen accountability for high-quality provincial clinical data. This role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted subject matter expert, influence data-driven improvements, and contribute to a more sustainable and effective healthcare system. Here is what you will be doing: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the data quality subject matter expert for assigned clinical business areas, providing informed guidance on hospital data quality, reporting requirements and operational performance. Monitor system indicators and monthly activities to assess hospital data quality against requirements, identifying, escalating and supporting the resolution of issues that may affect the integrity of provincial clinical data. Make recommendations and decisions on hospital-level data reportability, and clearly communicate when data cannot be reported. Partner with hospitals, clinical business units and Ontario Health stakeholders to promote continuous quality improvement, share best practices and strengthen accountability for data quality. Review processes, products, systems and applications end-to-end to identify efficiencies, manage risks and improve data submission, reporting and technical workflows. Lead or support mid- to large-scale hospital implementations, change management activities and process improvement initiatives. Develop and improve standardized documentation, tools and templates that support consistent, high-quality work. Collaborate effectively across ISMA and Ontario Health to deliver high-quality work on time and on budget, while contributing to Ontario Health’s mission, values and goals. Perform other cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested. Here is what you will need to be successful: Education and Experience An undergraduate Degree in Information Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, Health Sciences, Health Administration or Health Informatics or related field or recognized equivalent, is required; Four to eight years of overall working experience, including three to five recent years specializing in information management, data quality, or healthcare information management activities; Strong MS Excel (data manipulation, advanced formulas and pivot tables) a must have; Superior ability to critically analyze and define problems, evaluate alternatives, find solutions, and understand how and when to make a decision; Hospital experience and knowledge of wait times data, collection practices, or patient flow processes are an asset; Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with a broad variety of clients, staff, and external organizations; Exceptional leadership, facilitation, and team building skills; Ability to consult and provide opinion, facilitate discussion and resolve conflict; Superior verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with hospitals and present information to relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization; Exceptional attention to detail required.
