NATURE OF WORK

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists of the organization and the maintenance of all archives, student and operations files in accordance with the established guidelines, procedures, policies and legislation.

The employee will also perform technical and administrative tasks related to Record Retention and Management.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

Receives documents and data for student files and prepares for distribution as needed.

Verifies and validates student file, organizes as per established standards and transfers file to other technician as required.

Communicates with appropriate personnel when follow up is required regarding student files.

Responsible for the financial and administrative filing and archiving systems for the Regional Archives Centre according to established standards and guidelines.

As it pertains to the Regional Archives Centre, ensures the processing of documents received or acquired in a documentation centre; carries out technical work in order to research, classify, catalogue and index documents and filed accordingly to established procedures.

Participates, according to the policies, classification system defined, and the procedures in effect, in the evaluation, loan, circulation, selection, conservation and disposal of documents, scans documents.

Assists and may train less experienced technicians as well as coordinates the work of support staff in performing duties related to the implementation of programs involving technical operations for which responsible.

Uses a computer and the various software programs required.

Performs any other related duty as requested by the Coordinator of Records Retention and Management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Information and Library Technologies or a diploma in an appropriate specialty or an attestation of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.

Knowledge of the English language is required.

Knowledge of the Cree language is a definite asset.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Computer skills.

Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and respect deadlines.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Regular full-time position.

35 hours/week.
