Reporting to the Data Center Technical Lead, the Data Center Technician is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical compute infrastructure in our data center.
We have grown substantially since 2019, from our inception in Australia to now having several facilities across North America and being listed on NASDAQ… and we are just getting started! Job Requirements
- Diploma, degree, or recognized certification in Information Technology or a closely related field is required. Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CDCP, CCNA are an advantage
- Ability to understand and assist in diagnosing complex issues related to high-performance computing environments
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, remote system management, and infrastructure automation frameworks
- Prior experience with command-line interfaces (CLI), particularly in Linux environments
- Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow standardized operating procedures
- Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, supporting the effective operation of people and systems across multiple data center sites
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence
- Strong personal integrity, openness, and professional honesty
- Ability to develop innovative, practical solutions to technical challenges
- Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- A team player with a strong willingness to contribute beyond defined responsibilities and work across departments when needed
This role requires availability for a rotational shift schedule including day, night, and weekend coverage. Candidates must be comfortable working overnight and maintaining productivity during off-peak hours. A shift premium may apply. Job Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to all data center safety protocols and operational best practices
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on servers, storage systems, and networking hardware following standardized procedures
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-level problems across compute systems, switches, routers, and related devices
- Assist with installations, upgrades, migrations, and various infrastructure projects
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for configuration changes, maintenance activities, and issue resolution
- Liaise with hardware vendors for maintenance coordination and support contract management
- Support and maintain client-facing ticketing systems, ensuring issues are resolved within agreed SLA targets
- Contribute to overall site operations and team objectives as needed
