Senior Accountant – Vancouver (Hybrid)

The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant will support the Controller and senior finance leadership in managing key financial processes and providing insights that drive business growth.
This role is best suited for candidates with a blend of public practice training and industry accounting experience, who are comfortable handling both technical accounting and operational finance responsibilities in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will thrive in structured ERP-driven environments typical of larger organizations or publicly traded companies, while also identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, automation, and scalability across accounting processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full financial close cycle, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Overseeing journal entries for assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Supporting complex accounting issues, including business combinations, cross-border intercompany transactions, and public company reporting requirements.
- Preparing consolidated financial statements, trial balances, supporting schedules, and working papers.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external auditors, maintaining accurate audit documentation.
- Managing the revenue cycle, including reconciliations, billing adjustments, and refund support.
- Conducting ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support operational decision-making.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements within ERP-based accounting environments, including automation, workflow optimization, and internal control enhancements.
Who – the Candidate
We are seeking a CPA-designated Senior Accountant with a strong blend of public practice and industry experience. Candidates who began their careers in Big 4 or large national public accounting firms, and who have since gained experience within a fast-paced public company or high-growth technology environment, will be particularly well aligned with this opportunity.
Candidates coming directly from public practice without industry experience are unlikely to be successful in this role.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Public practice training (Big 4 or large firm preferred) combined with relevant industry accounting experience.
- Experience working in larger, complex organizations such as publicly traded companies or high-growth SaaS/technology businesses.
- Experience in multi-entity and cross-border accounting environments, including intercompany transactions and consolidations.
- Exposure to public company reporting environments and strong internal control frameworks.
- Strong experience working in ERP-driven accounting environments (NetSuite preferred), with an understanding of automated workflows, scalable processes, and system-based reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting, financial analysis, and data management.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong partnership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
- Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of delivering high-quality work in a structured accounting environment.
- Proven experience identifying and implementing process improvements, automation initiatives, or system enhancements that increase efficiency and improve reporting accuracy.
How Much
Highly competitive compensation in the range of $90,000 – 110,000 CAD + Equity, depending on experience and qualifications. The total compensation package includes:
- Health & dental benefits.
- RRSP match.
- Unlimited PTO, with a minimum of 20 business days.
- Flexible work arrangements.
Where
Vancouver, hybrid work schedule, requiring a minimum of 2 days in-office per week for candidates living within 80km. Candidates must be adaptable to occasional early morning or evening meetings to accommodate different time zones.
