About the role
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for greeting and seating guests with regard to rules, regulations and outlet
operational guidelines. Under the supervision of F&B Manager or Supervisor, this role must contribute to
a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees and patrons. Ensures adherence to all polices
and procedures. This position may be performed in a restaurant, buffet operation, and positively
contributes to an entrepreneurial culture that is nimble, energized, growth oriented, to self-motivate and
lead by example. Above all else, must be aligned with, and promote, Shorelines Casinos culture and
philosophy of creating a great, memorable experience for our guests and colleagues.
Primary Responsibilities
Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service.
Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer
performance, and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
Participates in the implementation of the departmental strategic plans.
Seat guests in area of choice and distributes menus; advises guests of daily or weekly specials
Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
Assists with cleaning tables or counters; removes dishes and re-stocks when required
Performs opening or closing duties as required
Maintains accurate records, wait lists and reservations
Ensures table availability through communication with food and beverage staff; maximizes seating
arrangements
Performs cashier duties, counts cash float at end of shift if applicable
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership,
regulatory bodies, and employees
Contributes toward workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
Anticipates operational and service issues before they escalate, trouble-shoots and resolves guest
concerns before they are complaints.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed and assist other co-workers as needed
Education & Qualification Requirements
People-focused and committed to service excellence
Proactive and solution-oriented with a drive to succeed
Smart Serve certification
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service
oriented communication
POS experience
Food and beverage experience preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain registration as a Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming
Commission of Ontario
Working Environment Considerations:
Regular casino environment, standing or walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise and
conflict, non-traditional work hours.
