Animal Care Attendant, Receptionist
Location: Toronto, ON
Compensation: $17.85 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Secord Animal Hospitalis currently welcoming a full-time customer service-focused Animal Care Attendant, Receptionistto join our team. This great opportunity includes a range of responsibilities that directly contribute to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. Your primary responsibility is to ensure our clients and their pets feel welcomed, expertly cared for, and appreciated!
- Customer service functions, including greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments.
- Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
- Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
- Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
- Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
- Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
- Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that the facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.
- Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians with various tasks and the treatment of pet patients
- Providing compassionate care duties, including feeding and walking patients
- General hospital maintenance, including cleaning kennels
