EPCOR Water Services (EWS) is hiring a full
‑
time permanent Project Risk Analyst to join our Project Management team at the Rossdale WTP in Edmonton.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to EPCOR’s project and portfolio success by leading risk identification, analysis, and mitigation across a diverse and growing project portfolio. You will collaborate closely with project managers and technical teams to enhance risk practices, strengthen decision
‑
making, and support the successful delivery of EPCOR Water Services’ annual capital program of over $500M.

What You’d Be Responsible For
As the Project Risk Analyst, reporting to the Project Controls Manager, your key responsibilities include:
Risk Management & Analysis
- Develop, enhance, and implement project and portfolio risk management processes, tools, and systems.
- Facilitate risk assessment workshops with project teams.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analysis for projects, programs, and portfolios.
- Identify and assess risks and opportunities, and support mitigation and response planning.
- Establish and maintain risk registers and a library of common project risks.
- Allocate and track risk management budgets for mitigation activities.
Project Controls & Reporting

Support improvements to project scheduling, budgeting, and cost
‑
control processes through risk analysis.

Provide project and portfolio
‑
level monitoring, including budgets, forecasts, KPIs, risks, and recovery plans.
-
Prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership based on risk analysis.
-
Collaborate with Cost Control Specialists, Estimators, and Project Controls Analysts to develop forecasts, cash flows, and cost models.
-
Use tools such as Power BI, Excel, Power Query, and Primavera P6 for data analysis and visualization.
Coaching, Standards & Continuous Improvement
- Train and coach project teams and risk owners on risk management processes and tools.
- Evaluate risk awareness across teams and provide targeted guidance or training.
- Contribute to building and enhancing EPCOR’s Project Control System and supporting operational excellence initiatives.
- Maintain a strong safety focus, high performance standards, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as required.
What’s Required to Be Successful
Education
-
Completion of a 2
‑
year diploma in business, engineering, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field.
-
A related degree may also be considered.
Certifications
-
PMP Certification
is considered an asset to have
.
-
ISO 31000 or PMI Risk Management Certification (or actively working toward one).
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in:
-
Construction project management.
-
Project risk management for multiple projects or portfolios.
-
Implementing risk management tools, applications, and methodologies.
-
Applying risk concepts to scheduling, budgeting, and cost
‑
control systems.
-
Water or wastewater construction projects (asset
‑
related infrastructure projects).
-
- Candidates with 5+ years of strong related experience may be considered for a developmental appointment.
Technical Skills
-
Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Excel, Power Query).
-
Proficiency with project controls systems and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6).
-
Solid understanding of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar).
-
Knowledge of construction
best
practices
within the municipal utility/water industry.
